Top Apprentices Accelerate to a Commercial Vehicle Career

Promising you talent across Australia's heavy commercial vehicle industry has been recognised with Mercedes-Benz Australia/Pacific recently naming its Commercial Vehicle Apprentice of the Year.

The annual awards recognise the best-performing apprentices in the Daimler Trucks Accelerated Apprentice Program, a company-specific training initiative that focuses on Daimler technology, systems and products for mechanical apprentices in Heavy Commercial Vehicle dealerships.

Jake Sauer, from MBCV Huntingwood, was named 2009 Apprentice of the Year.

The 22-year-old Heavy Vehicle Technician, who was also named best third year apprentice, took out the title from an impressive field of apprentices across the 50-dealer strong Commercial Vehicle network.

Patrick Bramble, from MBCV Newcastle, was named best first year apprentice while Samual Pepper, from Hartwigs in Wagga Wagga, was best second year apprentice.

“The goal of the Accelerated Apprentice Program is to develop technically sound, self-motivated commercial vehicle technicians who are knowledgeable, customer focused and take pride in their workmanship,” CV Service & Parts General Manager Vince King said.

“The apprentice awards recognise the high calibre of young people we have in our industry and acknowledge the hard work and determination they apply in learning their craft.”
